Ramallah – December 15, 2017 – Current and former parliamentarians, along with leaders from Europe, Israel and Palestine will gather for a meeting of the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP) in Ramallah this Saturday Dec. 16, 2017.
The IAPP began in 2016 as a worldwide association of legislators to find peaceful solutions to conflicts throughout the world.
Topics to be discussed include:
• A trans-religious and transnational framework for the exchange of ideas, experiences and insights into dealing with the challenges of our times, with attention to peace building reconciliation and development.
• An integrated and principled framework for developing effective plans of action and sound governance capacities.
• Access to a range of human development and peace-building programs necessary for durable solutions.
• Connections with a broad global network to include: religious and civil leaders and prominent members of women’s organizations, the media and other groups involved with peace-building activities.
• IAPP already has over 70 regional and national branches and includes several thousand international parliamentary members focused on dialogue and practical collaboration to solve problems throughout the world.
IAPP is a project of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) – an organization with branches in more than 130 nations. UPF is an NGO in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)
